Dr. Robert C. Morgart

1931 - 2018

Sept. 3, 1931 - June 9, 2018 Dr. Robert C. Morgart (Bob), passed away Saturday, June 9, following a year's declining health at his winter home in Palm Desert, CA. He was born to Dr. Theodore and Dr. Helen Morgart in Pittsburgh, PA on Sept.3, 1931. He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Doctorate's degree in Dental Surgery on June 15, 1955. He served as a Lt JG .in the United States Navy from July 1955 to Dec. 1957. He practiced pediatric dentistry in Vallejo from 1958 to 1990. Bob married Mary Theresa Coyne of Pittsburgh, PA in Dec. 1955. They were married for 49 years, until her death in 2004. They lived in Vallejo and Green Valley. Bob married Jean Greggins Amodeo in May 2007 and moved to Napa. Bob was an avid fly fisherman. He traveled many places around the world and enjoyed the deep friendship of many likeminded anglers, the tranquility of natural wonders and the excitement of the catch. He also was an avid golfer. He belonged to Green Valley County Club for over 50 years. He enjoyed bike riding, duck hunting with his longtime friends and recently enjoyed the sport of shooting. He traveled to many places in the world with his wife, Terry, and more recently with his second wife, Jean. Bob was a true gentleman. He will be greatly missed but also fondly remembered for his unfailing good humor, generosity and kindness. Bob's father, mother, and much loved brother, Richard preceded him in death. Survived by his loving wife, Jean, and step daughters, Christina (Christopher) Humm, Susan (Mike) Minahen; step sons, Matthew and Kevin Amodeo. A memorial service and Celebration of Bob's Life will be held on Saturday, June 23, at 3 p.m., at Tulocay Cemetery, 411 Coombsville Road, Napa.
