He was one of the true leaders in many areas of thermal sciences and computational fluid dynamics. His impact has been tremendous. My first interaction with him was in 1979, when he was the Editor of a book series in which I published a book. I first met him in Cesme, Turkey, in 1985 and, of course, met him many many times after that. His trip to grace a conference held at Rutgers University last year was a great pleasure and honor. We will all miss his wonderful insight and deep understanding of the physical world.
