Chester Mizer Obituary
"Together Again"
Chester L. Mizer
92, of Bolivar and a resident of Park Village Health Care Center at Dover since 2010, died Sunday, April 15, 2012 at 5:10 a.m. in Union Hospital at Dover after a period of declining health. Born May 10, 1919 in Stone Creek, he was a son of the late Martin Luther and Irene (Cline) Mizer. He was a 1939 graduate of Stone Creek High School and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church at Bolivar. He was a retired dairy farmer and was very active in church and other community groups such as The Tuscarawas County Farm Bureau, Tuscarawas County Soil Conservation Association and the Tuscarawas County Fair Board.
His wife, the former Mary C. Troendly preceded him in death on August 21, 2003. Surviving are one daughter, Ruth Beachy of Dundee and two sons, Gail W. (Sally) Mizer of Rocky Face, Ga. and Gara (Sharon) Mizer of Dover; a son-in-law, Richard Lauer of Cincinnati; seven grandchildren, Tami Turley, Cherrie (Mark) Macke, Diane Lauer, Corey Mizer, Amy (Dwayne) McFerrin, Mike (Megan) Beachy and Rob Beachy; seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; a brother, Joseph Russell (Gladys) Mizer of New Philadelphia and one sister, Verna (Charles) Mutti of Stone Creek. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Irene Lauer, a son-in-law, Ernie Beachy, two brothers, Carl Mizer and Mike Mizer and three sisters, Audrey Ott, Madelyn Shutt and Erma Flinner.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 11 a.m. in St. Paul Lutheran Church at 156 Poplar St. Bolivar. Rev. Mike Pozzuto will officiate and burial will follow in West Lawn Cemetery at Baltic. Following services a luncheon will held in the Smith Family Center in Sugarcreek. Friends may call Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Lebold-Smith Funeral Home at 248 Park Ave. Bolivar and one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. For those unable to attend please visit the funeral home's web site to share a memory and sign the guest register. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials in Chester's memory be made to the donors favorite charity.

To the Mizer family,
I knew Chester and Mary for a number of years through church and became best friends with their grand-daughter Tami through work. My condolences to your family he was such a sweet man and he will be sorely missed.

I knew Mr Mizer through a plumbing company I use to work for and he was such a kind and intelligent fellow, I always enjoyed speaking with him. My condolences to his family at this sad time.

Chester was a very wise man. I will miss him at the cookouts. He made a footstool for Ken and I for a wedding present and I will always cherish that. My thoughts and prayers are with his family as they mourn his loss.
