Harold Auman Obituary

Harold E. Auman
73, of Dover died Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Union Hospital. Born April 16, 1937 in Sugarcreek he was a son of the late Thurlow "Pete" and Edna Moomaw Auman. He retired as a Driver and Salesman from the Pepsi Cola Bottling Co. in New Philadelphia after 38 years of service. Harold was a member of the First Moravian Church in Dover where he had served on the Joint Board. He was also a member of the Dover Tornado Club. Harold enjoyed all sports, especially playing golf, NASCAR and coaching his son's Little League team. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends, whether going out to dinner or going on a cruise Harold always looked forward to these events. He was a good friend and neighbor who was always there to lend a helping hand, and even though he was a man of few words, he always led by example.
Harold is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sheila A. Stucky Auman whom he married on Oct. 9, 1955; children, Marcia (Dan) Harding, Bonnie Auman and Jeff Auman; grandchildren, Kristin (Mike) Becker and Erin Harding, all of Dover.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 4, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Pastor John Wallace officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park. Friends can call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. Those wishing to express their fondest memories of Harold may do so by visiting the on line obituaries link on the funeral homes website.
