Shirley Solter Obituary

Shirley June Rogers Solter, age 66, of Scio went home to be with the Lord Sunday, May 24, 2009, in Bowerston Pointe Nursing Home.
Born Jan. 18, 1943, in Mingo Junction she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Luna Edge Rogers. She graduated from Steubenville Big Red High School in 1961 and was a cashier for Dairy Mart in Scio.
Shirley attended the Family Baptist Church in Uhrichsville and enjoyed crocheting and needlepoint.
Surviving are her husband, Frank Solter, whom she married Sept. 12, 1968; a daughter, Sheryl Lynn Solter of Houston, Texas; grandsons Justin and Ryan Heaton of North Carolina; sisters Clara Morris of Steubenville, Ida Mae Frey of Steubenville and Grace Zinc of Philadelphia, Pa.; and a brother Fred Rogers of Steubenville.
She was preceded in death by brothers Charles, Marian and Franklin Rogers.
Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Koch Funeral Home at Scio with Dr. Gene Keplinger officiating. Burial will follow in Fort Steuben Burial Estates in Wintersville. Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
