William Mercer Obituary

William P. Mercer Jr.
71, passed away following a short illness on March 24, 2012. Born June 15, 1940 in Dover, Ohio, he was a son of the late William Sr. and Anne Mercer. Over the years, his distinctive voice has been heard at many stations throughout Ohio, including WJER, WTUZ, and WHBC in Canton. He was also a talented percussionist and enjoyed music and performing live, a talent he passed on to his two grandsons.
Bill leaves behind one daughter, Rachel (Chris) Bolek of Dover; three grandchildren, Andrew, Alexis, and Aaron Bolek; sisters, Shirley (Herm) Frank of Marion, Ohio, Mary Kay Mercer and Carol Corbi both of Cary, N.C.; brother, Tom (Becky) Mercer of Cleveland.
As per his request, no services or funeral will be held, but instead an informal celebration of his life will take place in the near future. The family requests that Memorial Contributions be made to Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County.

Really missing my dear friend whose witty comments and fiery political commentary kept me amused on facebook. His voice was on the radio that we listened to each morning getting ready for the day reading news.

Bill was our "famous" cousin whom we all admired for his talent and good nature. We extend our sympathy and kind thoughts to our cousins Carol, Shirley, Mary Kay, and Tom and Bill's family. Sara Mercer-Sells, Johnstown, Ohio
