Margaret Arnold-MacFarland Obituary

Margaret "Peg" Arnold-MacFarland
63, of Dover and formerly of Cincinnati, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011 following an extended illness. Born on Sept. 11, 1948 in Cincinnati, she was the daughter of Ralph Raymond and Margaret Anderson Arnold. Her father precedes her in death. Peg was a very independent woman. Her family describes her like Earl Spenser described Princess Diana, "Unique, complex, extraordinary, and irreplaceable."
In addition to her mother, Margaret, she will be sadly missed by her daughter, Mary (Paul) Johnston of Cincinnati; two sons, Bill (Andrea) MacFarland of Cincinnati, Tommy (companion, Daniel) MacFarland; four grandchildren, Dylan and Tyler Johnston and Elsie and Alice MacFarland all of Cincinnati; former husband, Thomas MacFarland of Cincinnati; along with her special grand-dog, Prudence and grand-cat, Pencil. The family would like to express their appreciation for the care that they received from Community Hospice and the nurses and staff at Union Hospital ICU, and the Tuscarawas County Senior Center. Memorial contributions can be made to Community Hospice, 201 W. 3rd St, Dover, OH 44622.
A celebration of Peg's life will take place at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011 at 3:30 p.m. with Pastor David Carrick officiating. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Saturday from 2 p.m. until the service starts at 3:30. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cincinnati at a later date. Those unable to attend, or who would like to share fond memory of Peg may do so by visiting the "Obituaries & Flowers" link on the funeral home's website.
