Charles was born on May 21, 1934, in Waterford, N.Y., son of Ephraim J. Chouiniere and Elizabeth A. (Colette) Chouiniere, youngest brother of William Chouiniere and Elizabeth (Betty Ann) (Chouiniere) Caruso. Charles grew up in Waterford, attending primary school at St. Anne's in Northside, followed by secondary school at LaSalle Institute in Troy, N.Y. and Keveny Memorial Academy in Cohoes, N.Y. Following secondary school, Charles attended Siena College in Loudonville, N.Y., graduating in 1955 with a bachelor of arts degree in criminal justice. Charles met and fell in love with Doris LaCasse while she was nearby visiting her recently married older sister. They married in 1955 and initially settled in Waterford. Prior to retirement, Charles and Doris lived part-time in Lehigh Acres, Fla. and eventually settled full-time in Fort Myers. After working for many years with his father as a carpenter, Charles worked as an insurance claims adjuster. After working for a number of years for Commercial Union and Crawford & Co., he founded Fort Orange Claims Service. A past president of the Albany Claims Association, Charles was known for his attention to detail and broad knowledge of insurance, related law and construction. As a carryover from his youth, Charles participated in a number of individual or team sports, notably, softball, bowling, tennis and basketball. In addition, Charles was a dedicated supporter of most NY professional sports teams including the NY Yankees, the NY Giants and the NY Knicks. Charles leaves behind a loving wife and family that will miss him dearly. Very devoted to his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he will always be fondly remembered as Pip. Charles will be remembered in a service to be held at Blessed Pope John XXIII in Fort Myers on Friday, July 13, at 10 a.m. for family and friends. Following the service, Charles' ashes will be interred in a memorial garden plot at Blessed Pope John XXIII. I am very sorry for your loss. I was a public adjuster in Albany and adjusted many losses with Chuck. He was the most professional adjuster in the Capital District and a good guy. I enjoyed working with him and spending time with him. May he rest in peace.

Aunt Dorie, Gene, Debbie, Brian, Colette and Andy, as you can suspect there are no words to express our love and admiration for Uncle Chuck. To Karen, Michelle, Brian, Erica, and myself he was much more than an Uncle, he was a very loving "PIP". As you can imagine, his passing has left an enormous void in our lives. His memory will forever by in our hearts, and I will personally think of him every day and continue to live with the memories of how he treated me like one of his very own, he truly treated me and thought of me as one of his own boys, for that I am so proud to call him DAD. We love and miss all of so very much.

We are all so sorry for the passing of "OUR WONDERFUL PIP".

Love Danny, Karen, Michelle, Brian, and Erica.

Aunt Dorie, Gene, Debbie, Brian,, Colette, Andrew and families. I was so sorry to hear about Uncle Chuck's passing. My first memory of Uncle Chuck was going to my first Yankee game with Uncle Chuck, my Dad and Mim. Your dad has his firstbasemans mitt with him and when I asked him why he had his glove with him.. He replied "well Moose Skowron is hurt and I might have to play first today". The entire trip down, I was really excited that my uncle might be playing for the Yankees!!! There were lots of other good times, playing tennis is Matt and Pudge Fredette. Vacations at Brant Lake... lots of great memories. I was hoping to be able to attend the services on Friday but I'm afraid it's not working out. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. Love to you all.

Dear Aunt Doris. Hearing of Uncle Chucks passing makes me remember when mom, your sister, passed a few years ago. It leaves one LARGE hole in our lives and the lives of our families. May you all remember the good times and not forget the bad ones, for they are parts of our lives also. My prayer and thoughts are with you all. May you all rest in the Peace of The Father and know he is not suffering any more.Love to all Dennis & Family in North Carolina
