Jean Wunderlich Obituary

Wunderlich, Jean LATHAM Jean Wunderlich, 73, of Latham, beloved wife of Joseph Wunderlich, entered eternal life on Thursday, July 9, 2009 at the Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. Born February 8, 1936 in Watervliet, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Florence Nellis Lester. Jean was a graduate of Watervliet High School, class of 1953, and Austin Beauty School. Jean was the owner and hairstylist of Jean's Beauty Shop and officer of Joseph R. Wunderlich, Inc. for many years. She enjoyed bowling with the "Drop-Ins," bingo, summer vacations on Cape Cod, afternoons at the Saratoga Race Track, trips to Atlantic City, Las Vegas and winter vacations in Aruba. Jean enjoyed many things but, most of all, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren who were the light of her life. She was a kind, compassionate and loving person. She will be deeply missed. Survivors in addition to her husband include her loving children, Leslie Dota, James Wunderlich and Carolyn (Lance) O'Brien; her cherished grandchildren, Nicky, John and Sofia Dota and Peyton O'Brien. She was the sister of Joyce (George "Bud") Bessette, Gayle (Tom) Martin and Eleanor Gambelli. She is also survived by her loving sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, several nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. Jean was predeceased by her son, Phillip Wunderlich and brother, George Lester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, July 13, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. in St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham with Rev. Francis DuBois officiating. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the Dufresne & Cavanaugh Funeral Home, 149 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
