Ruth Kewley Obituary

Kewley, Ruth A. TROY Ruth A. Kewley, 80, of Troy passed into eternal life Sunday, May 18, 2008, at the Eddy Memorial Geriatrics Center in Troy. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Anna Mae Gruber Stehle and wife of the late John Kewley. Ruth graduated from Catholic Central High School in Troy and Mildred Elley School in Albany. She worked for many years as an administrative assistant for the Sage Colleges, and later worked at Broward Community College in Fla. Ruth was a member of Speigletown Fire House Auxiliary, she enjoyed playing the piano, board games and bocce. Ruth is survived by her children, Barbara (Martin) Fane of Buskirk, William J. (Barbara) Kewley of Troy and Glenn E. (Joan) Kewley of Latham. She is also survived by a brother, Louis Stehle, formerly of Troy and was predeceased by her brother, Anthony Stehle. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jason, Jessica, Allison, John and Marissa; her great-grandchildren, Jason "JD" and Eli; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral for Ruth will be held Thursday morning at 8:45 from the Wm. Leahy Funeral Home, 336 Third St., Troy, and at 9:30 from St. Joseph's Church in Troy, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the funeral home, Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. Interment, St. Patrick's Cemetery in Watervliet. Contributions in Ruth's memory to the Eddy Memorial Geriatrics Center in Troy, 2256 Burdett Ave., Troy, would be appreciated.
