I will always remember the day that we found out we were related, we were in first grade. We went to the bathroom so we could talk without getting in trouble in the classroom; when we came back we told everyone that we had a secret, but that didn't last long. We were too excited to keep it to ourselves and by the end of the day everyone in the class knew.
I was lucky enough to call Betsy a friend, and I have many great memories from my childhood with her. Burning our notebooks in a bon fire at the end of each school year, and having sleepovers in tents are just a few.
She had a magnetic personality that drew others in, and that brightened the lives of all those around her. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

We met her not enough times at St.Thomas's.

Litany Of Remembrance (We Remember And Give Thanks)
Leader: Those who live no more are with us still in our thoughts and in our words. Who they are and what they did will always be a part of us and what we have become at this moment.

Hi:
I knew Betsy from working with her at Simeons. She always brought a smile to the room no matter what the situation was. I came to the funeral but didn't get a chance to come say hello and tell you how much your daughter meant to me. I wish you all the best and have extreme sympathy for you in this time. We all loved Betsy and we'll see her again someday. :)

I knew Betsy since she was a little girl. My children were about the same age, so we saw Betsy just about every summer and during many Christmas vacations. Allison, Elliott, Geoffrey and Courtney already miss their energetic cousin very much.
Betsy was enthusiastically undaunted by challenges. I last saw her at her Grandmother's 90th birthday party. I was glumly warning of the difficulties of moving to LA. She didn't pause for a second before saying, "Don't worry, Uncle Charlie, I'll figure it out!" And she would have, too.

Betsy's family and friends,
I unfortunately didn't get to know Betsy beyond the occasional conversation in high school, however her sparkling personality, warmth, and kindness have an impact on me still today. No person should ever have to experience what you are going through. I know that no amount of words can or will change what has so tragically taken place, but take solace in the fact that Betsy will be with you now and forever, living on in the memories you keep close to your heart.

I spoke a few times with Betsy and every time I had the privilege, she always left the best impression. I can't imagine how hard the times must be to the family and friends that knew her best. All I can say is that every life that Betsy touched is truly blessed. I'll see you later Betsy, we all will. Just not yet.

To the Gilligan family- I am heartbroken over the loss of Betsy. I had the fortunate opportunity of meeting Betsy in the Ithaca LA program, where we both happened to work at MTV together. Even though I only knew her for one short year, she was honestly the happiest, most uplifting person I have ever met, and her kindness was infectious. I will always remember her for being such a genuine person, and for her ability to live each day to the fullest. I am sure you know how wonderful your Betsy was. I want the world to know what a corageous lovely woman Betsy was. She lit up every room she walked into. She made you want to be a better person. She made you want to enjoy life and most of all she made you smile. She was kind, caring, warm and compassionate about life. I have come accross very few who live every minute as if it's their last and that was Betsy. It is hard enough dealing with an unexpected death and it's even harder to know that person was magical. She was a super star! She had a beautiful smile with gorgous green eyes and the absolute BEST attitude about life. I am so sorry family about you losing Betsy. I am very proud I was able to meet you at Simeons and I have saved the letter from Betsy she wrote me that evening before she left. You must know that your daughter touched so many lives and what we can take from this tragic accident is something thats magical: the opportunity to meet a friend who is one of the most amazing girls ever to step foot on this earth. I thank the lord and you for that every day.

Even my oldest 28 yr. old would have come from Philly if she hadn't just had an ACL replacement. Betsy had that effect on all ages! She was a good friend to me. We were in year book commitee together. We had luch together. My prayers and concer are with the family. She will be greatly missed. Betsy was a wonderful and cherished friend of our daughter Annie while at Ithaca College and Betsy was one of those special people who keeps the friendship going after graduation. We remember meeting Betsy one evening while she and Annie were working togther at Simeons and yes she did have a lovely smile. We are so very sorry for your loss.
