Dear Mike, December was always one of our favorite months & it still is for me...especially December 1959 and December 1963. 1959 was our first date and our first New Year's Eve...which was a party at 2 Maple Lane South...the first time I was inside Maple Lane. Many years later...our first three grandbabies were brought home to Maple Lane as infants...residing in the Parker homestead. December 1963 was our Wedding Day - one we share - 50 years later with Matt and Erin. Our grandkids are thriving and I enjoy them all immensely. Two handsome grandsons and eight "gorgeous" grandgirls keep me surrounded with wonderful companions of all ages. Keep us strong with your thoughts and prayers. Love, Patty

Dad,
Spent the day playing tennis with my girls, one of the many crazy sports your Parker clan partook in (well maybe just one member of the family). Still, watching their joy brings back memories of you cheering me on the courts, in the gym or on the field. It didn't matter what sport (or Maureen and Katy's dancing/cheering/etc.) you were always there to show your support. I pray every day that I'm providing the same reassurance for my girls, that no matter what sport or activity they do I will be there to cheer and support them. But of course, they have to do something -- one lesson I definitely learned!

Thinking of my beloved husband today and always. Our ninth grandchild, Eleanor...has joined her cousins this year and has become a delight to all of us. You must enjoy seeing Ellie having fun with her cousins who love to spoil her immensely! I can hear you telling Ellie she is "gorgeous" as you always did with the other 6 Parker grandgirls. Our two handsome grandsons are my prince charmings. Eleanor wore the Parker christening dress worn by her Great Grampa Paul Parker and her Great Grand Aunt Eleanor Parker the first!. Ellie has those magnificant blue eyes which she has inherited from the Parkers and Cassidys. Love you forever, Patty

Your Dad was always my Big Boy Cousin. He laughed with all of us, but was kind of serious at the same time. Like our dear Susan, he is now at peace. As a family, you took wonderful care of him. Mike was lucky to have you and you were all lucky to have him.

I have so many fond memories of Mike at the Health Department, when we worked together in the Division of Health Facility Planning. What a great leader and wonderful man. He always made us laugh. My sympathies to the family.

Our prayers are with Mike and the entire Parker family. I had the great pleasure of working under Mike's direction at the Department of Health and later working with him at the Cicero Consulting firm. Mike was always a joy to be around. Of all the good things Mike did while with the Department, (forget the healthcare stuff) perhaps the best was organizing the annual summer Golf Tournament at Pinehaven. I still have the "group photos" and Mike's unique style of golf attire will long be remembered.

I remember Mike as a man of great kindness. He was always able to generate extraordinary enthusiasm in whatever he did. Mrs. Parker, and family. I will never forget all of the wonderful times my family spent with yours at good old Fort Hunter Fire House, from clam bakes, to fun events at the fire hall, but most of all I will remember how happy my dad was when he was with Mike up on the ladder with those big red suspenders with the fire hose trying to win first prize on one of there silly games trying to spray the bucket to the opposite end. My mom and Dad have moved onto Heaven already and I know that they are happy, and healthy and hopefully are sitting with Mike catching up right now. My deepest sympathy is with you and all your family, and I am so grateful that our families shared so many wonderful memories together.

Pat and the Parker Clan - I will forever remember Mike for what an honest, forthright person he was. To us younger firefighters back in the day, to neighbors, friends, and whoever he came in contact with. I was so happy to see him the day you pulled in to my house on Carman Road and he was in the van, waiting to see me. The same Mike that he always was, despite the health challenges. It was an old friend just when I needed him, telling me that all was ok. I will never forget that. He will forever be in my heart as what a man should be. He most proud accomplishments were his wife and family. And what a wonderful accomplishment that is. My heart goes out to you, Pat, and to your kids. You were a consummate professional and dedicated public servant, a proud volunteer firefighter, an unabashed fan of the N.Y. Giants and the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame, and a cordial golfer and sportsman. But most of all you were a father -- proud of your 'Parker Clan'; always there to cheer from the grandstands of Guilderland H.S., drop off instruments at school for forgetful children, take your kids on trips to Disney or your own second honeymoon to Hawaii, offer words of encouragement or a hug when needed, and never be afraid to say 'I love you.' People knew you in many ways, but as a dad, you were exceptional.
