Nicole and Al,
The Judge (as I always referred to him as) was very, very kind to me during a difficult time. I never stopped thinking about what a gentle man was inside that tough exterior and will never forget him. I can tell you one thing-those kids of yours brought him more joy than any grandfather I ever met. I have no doubt that he is resting is peace and getting his most just reward.

Dear Carol and Family
My sincere condolences for your loss. I got to know Nick when he helped me deal with the death of my sister Barbara Weber. He became a friend and trusted advisor. On my annual trips back to NY, I always managed a lunch or a golf game with him. He was a great guy and good friend. We both shared the passion for good Italian food. God bless you in this most difficult time.

As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any man's death diminishes me". Dear Criscione family,
We were saddened to hear of Nick's passing. He will always be Nicky to us. There are many fond memories of the time when we lived on Second Avenue above the store, and Nicky was a big part of it. He used to go fishing with Dad.
Whenever we met at family functions, Nick was always there to welcome us and ask about our family. He made you feel welcome and you knew he was truly interested in what you had to say.
Our prayers will be with you always and may the Lord give you comfort and strength in the days ahead. God bless you all.

Dear Carol, Nicole, Boo and Matt:
On behalf of Tricia and myself, we express our sincerest and loving condolences for your loss. We are just devastated by Nick's sudden passing and want you to know you are all in our thoughts and prayers. As I thought about how to best remember Nick in an individual way, I thought I would share some comments below in his memory as he truly was a man of distinct honor.
Where do I begin? Your husband and father was an exceptional person who made all of us better people - but that is quite an understatement in itself. Having been a close friend of your family now for over 30 years, I know how hard this loss is for you and want to assure you his memory will always live on in all of us forever. Despite the difficulty of his pasing, I wanted to share with you some of many memories that will honor Nick and hopefully bring light and warmth to you during this tough time.
Growing up across the street from you all on Sky Hollow Drive had many chapters of laughter, family gatherings, competitions (yes kickball being one of them!), band-aid emergencies, bottle-rockets and of course the world famous Criscione Family Secret Recipe Popcorn! To this day, out of so many successful professional ventures your family has achieved, I was hoping the gourmet popcorn would become THE household brand known to all! Those Friday movie nights were legendary and never could I imagine how good a Diet Coke and Criscione popcorn went together. The kind you buy at the movies paled in comparison! When I left for college, I tried to make this famous recipe on my own and nearly burned down my apartment!
Whenever I saw Nick, regardless of the occasion, he always shook my hand with a sense of approval that made me feel like a champ. He, just like the rest of you, treated us as lifelong friends and always greeted us with a smile and warm embrace. The Christmas, Super Bowl, graduation and wedding parties we all attended together are memories that will last a lifetime. The Roost - an epicenter of golf, tennis and Swim Team battles as well as our collective abilties to memorize the account numbers of our fathers were always interesting occasions. Especially when the bills were sitting in the mailbox and we had to witness our fathers review the list of President's Room and Pool charges that were astounding. To this day, knowing Nick as a big time town judge and my own father as a village deputy mayor, I know we count our blesssings that stiff sentences were not thrown our way as a result!
The ballgames we attended watching the Albany-Colonie Yankees, Albany Patroons, and RPI hockey were always a blast. Nick was always present when Matt and I were playing for CBA and St. Pius Soccer and countless carpool conversations going from one activity to the next made our childhood seem we lived in our own vision of Utopia. We all were so close, I felt we became extended members of such an amazing Italian family. We learned so much about the traditions, Columbus Day parades, the IACC and how bad Irish food is compared to Italian food - it's true!!
As Nicole, Matt, Erin, Brendan and I grew up, witnessing college graduations, political races, weddings, milestone birthdays, and births of grandchildren, each encounter seemed like it was yesterday. Your husband and father set such a great example on how to live life to its fullest, regardless of whatever challenges lie ahead. Having hobbies, surrounding yourself with a loving network of family and friends, achieving professionally with class and enjoying each day God gives us truly exemplifies living life to its fullest. Nick did this with ease and with grace.
Thank you Nick for being such a strong inspiration to us all, you will be missed, we love you and you will never be forgotten. God Bless you all. We are always here for you.
Love,
Pat
