April 13, 2013

Betsy, and I am sure you can hear me ... I am sorry I didn't know. You meant so much to me when I had my shop 20 years ago and gave me so much advice. I will always remember you and the fun times we had ... Love Maureen Stuart

I first met Betsy 38yrs ago when I took my first Lamaze class...she was a beautiful person and I will always remember how helpful and kind she was. My sincere sympathy to her family.

April 2, 2013

So very sorry for your loss. I took several classes with Betsy through the Embroiderers' Guild and at Ankar's needlework shop in N. Greenbush [she or Ken popped in often for supplies for the latest design in progress]. Always fun to see what her historically appropriate costume would be, as well as hearing her speak about the history of the era and stitches as we worked on our samplers. The wit, grace and kindness she displayed in both her chosen careers will be missed.

April 2, 2013

Soo very sorry to hear of your loss. Betsy was a terrific designer & teacher. The classes I took from her at EGA and at Ankar's in N. Greenbush were so much fun and the samplers she created for them quite beautiful and satisfying to work on. Her humor and enthusiasm were infectioous, as she wore the appropriate historical costume and spoke about the history of the era and stitches. The world has lost a a person of grace and kindness who touched many lives, but it is a better place because of the many things she accomplished in both her nursing and needlework careers.

Betsy was one of the most delightful, entertaining people I have ever known. Her stitching classes were fabulous and I have a "Betsy Wall" , the results of several of her classes. As a three time cancer survival myself, we had many quiet talks on the subject. I have a collection of her patterns and I plan do one soon in her memory. She has been and will continue to be missed. Please accept my deepest sympathy.

Matt and Becky, I'm sorry to hear about the passing of your mom. She was lovely inside and out; warm, witty, full of love and generosity. I still remember babysitting the three of you when I was in high school and staying for long chats with your mother/father after they came home. I saw your parents only once after I left Castleton but it was like stepping right back into a page from the past. Age does not define who your friends are and 15 years between us did not change our ability to connect as friends. I'm praying for both of you now as you grieve, but I'm thankful we all have our memories. Patty reid

Twenty five years ago I was a young single pregnant woman that was fortunate enough to be a part of PCAP at Whitney Young Health Center. Betsy became my confidante, my cheerleader, and my teacher during that time period...I adored her! She was truly a special person and I always wanted her to know that my now 24 year old daughter has become quite successful and that if it wasnt for her guidance and kindness I probably would not have become the mother I had become if it wasnt for her influence. She truly was a "diamond in the rough" - my heartfelt condolenscences to the family...RIP Betsy!

She brought so much joy to so many and will be greatly missed. I am grateful that she touched my life. My deepest sympathy and condolences to the loved ones she left behind.
