Edward Drozdowski Obituary

Drozdowski, Edward F. ALBANY Edward F. Drozdowski, 81, entered into Eternal Life, Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Albany Memorial Hospital. Born in Albany on August 15, 1929, he was the son of the late Leon and Mary Miecznikowska Drozdowski. Ed grew up in Albany before joining the U.S. Marine Corps, serving honorably during the late 1940s. Self-employed, he successfully ran a restaurant service and supply company in the Capital District for many years, retiring in 1988. Ed enjoyed golfing, boating and spending time with his family. He belonged to several organizations, including the Arbor Hill Fish and Game Club, the Albany Polish-American Citizens Club, the Polish Community Center, the Joseph E. Zaloga Post 1520 American Legion, and the Crescent Boat Club, where he served previously as rear commodore. Ed is survived by his wife of 57 years, Genevieve (Jean) Peplowski Drozdowski; his daughter, Carole J. Foucault; his son, Michael E. Drozdowski; seven grandchildren, Jacob Osterhout, Katie Hoefer, James Osterhout, Justin and Jesse Foucault, and Anna and Eric Drozdowski. He is also survived by one great-grandson, Kramer Osterhout; a sister, Ceilia Grono; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his eldest daughter, Leanne S. Osterhout; his brother, Casimer; and sisters, Alice Hodoroski and Harriet Toniecki. Funeral services Friday, June 10, 2011 at 10 a.m. in the Lasak & Gigliotti Funeral Home, now located at 208 North Allen St., Albany. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Blessed Virgin Mary of Czestochowa, National Catholic Church, 250 Maxwell Road, Latham, NY 12110.

Jeannie and family,
So very, very sorry for your loss. I just found out about Ed's passing. (as we have not been living at home due to a house fire in Feb.) We had alot of good times in the past. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. I'll be in touch.

I was sorry to read of Ed's death.
