Dear Mary and Family,
I can't even imagine returning to Burden Lake this summer without Frank next door fishing with his grandsons. What a beautiful, kind and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend he was. We will miss his wonderful smile and ready laugh. He will be dearly missed. We send you all our thoughts and prayers.
Love,
Bonnie, Warren, Jim and Leslie Wisnewski

I first met Dr. Devane when my mother-in-law, Shirley House (Harding), was his chairside assistant in his Albany Office. From earlier childhood experiences, I was terrified of the dentist. His kindness and gentle manner to me and subsequently my entire family was a tribute to a caring spirit. He always had something positive and upbeat to leave you with at the end of each visit. That he was a wonderful father and grandfather is not hard to believe. Reading the memorials and tributes must bring comfort to each member of the family to know that he was loved and respected by so many people.
I am sorry for your loss. Please know that you will be in my thoughts and prayers. Blessings,
Chiara O'Connor

Mary and Family: I am so sorry for the loss of your partner, friend, leader of your family and wonderful man all around. I feel honored to have known Doc for the past 13 years of my life. He was one of a kind. The ultimate optimist. The bearer of cheer and the nicest man you could ever ask for in a friend. I had a great time with Frank on the golf course and at parties, but never did I see him happier than when he was in his castle on Burden Lake surrounded by his family. The joy and love just emanated from his eyes and his smile. To watch him and his best friend, Mary sit on the deck, waiting on each other and just chat was just breath taking. What more could a man ever ask for?
I will miss him yelling out to me, “ Hi-ya, T how ya doing kiddo?” He always took the time to see how life was with everyone that came to the Lake and always welcomed us with open arms. We all have wonderful memories of him.. he will never be forgotten. Each of Frank’s children has his wonderful qualities to carry on. My prayers are with your family. God Speed.

To the Devane Family ---
I remember Frank from the years that we were next-door neigbors on Morris Street in the 40's and 50's. As one of the older kids on the block, he tolerated the shenanigans of us younger kids with forebearance and good grace and in that way set an example of how to live our lives.
Although I will be unable to attend any of the formal services for Frank, my thoughts and prayers are with him and with you.
May God Bless and Keep all of you.

Dear Devane Family:
I am so sorry for your loss. Dr. Devane was my dentist when I was in high school. Like many people I hated going, but he and I would talk about the Yankees and it would make me feel better. I knew I was in the clear when after my spring check-up he would say "see in back when the Yanks are in the world series". That made me smile.
He was also a friend of my Dads. They were in the Wynantskill Kiwanis together. Now Dad has another friend in heaven with him.
God Bless.

"Franie ", as he was then called, was the first kid I met when our families became Morris Street neighbors in 1944. Frank and I remained friends thru high School. Time has a way of separating friends but just a couple of years ago I saw him in his brother's gin mill and was heartened to realize he was still the great kid he always was. Condolences to the family.

Dearest Kath,
We are so sadden to have heard the news of your dad's passing. I personally have so many fond and loving memories of him through all of our adult years. Every wonderful visit we had at St. Michael's as well as at the Lake, the annual event of cutting the Christmas tree with your family in the snow, mud and even drizzle, your wedding, my own wedding in which your dad danced up a storm with his dearest Mary and so much more. He was a kind and gentle man with a wonderful sense of family and humor. He lived his life to the fullest and was generous along the way. For all that who knew him, they were truly touched and blessed. May the words of the Irish Blessing hold true...
"May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
May the rains fall soft upon your fields,
And, until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of His hand".
With the deepest of sympathies to you, Eric, Brandan, Aidan, your mom, Frank, Maribeth and Colleen. With love you dearly,
Lisa, Giampaolo, Nicholas, Gabriella and Gianluca

To Maribeth and to all of her family, my heart goes out to each of you. I never met your Dad Maribeth, but I know what a tremendous, loving family bond you had. You spoke often of your Father, and it wasn't hard to tell how you felt about him. He sounded like a wonderful man who touched the lives of many. I know this is going to be a very difficult time for you, and I just wanted to let you know that I'm here if you need anything at all.
