Genevieve Hooper Obituary

Hooper, Genevieve HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. Genevieve "Jeanne" Hooper, 96, of Tryon Estates, died Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at St. Luke's Hospital. She was preceded in death by her loving husbands George Moehringer, Wiltred Hastings and Vincent Hooper; one son, Francis, who died in 1948. Mrs. Hooper graduated from Jamaica Teachers College in Queens, N.Y. before working as a New York City Public School Teacher for many years. She is survived by two sons, George and Vince Moehringer and a daughter, Joan Kratz; grandchildren include Paul and Bernadette Moehringer, Matt, Tim, and Emily Kratz and Kevin, Jim, and Christopher Moehringer; two great-grandchildren, Jason Moehringer and Kirsten Nebel. A memorial service will be at a later date in Albany, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society, P.O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202. Thos. Shepherd Son Funeral Directors and Cremation Memorial Center is in charge of arrangements. An online register book is available at www.thosshepherd.com
