James Cozza Obituary

Cozza, James STOTTVILLE James Joseph Cozza, 77, of Stott-ville, died Sunday, January 10, 2010 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson. Born March 12, 1932 in Hudson, he was the son of the late James and Theresa (Crispino) Cozza. Besides his parents he was predeceased by two brothers, Frank and Anthony Cozza. James leaves behind his wife of 57 years, Armetta (Millett) Cozza; a son, James (Teri) Cozza of Hudson; a daughter, Anna (Allen) Weaver of Stuyvesant; and a brother, Dominic Cozza of Athens. He was the proud "Poppy" of nine grandchildren, Jill (Morgan) Turner, Tate (Kyung) and Jordan Cozza, Kelly (Tony DeLuca) Secovnie, Tracey and Tim Rheingold, Enoch (Sasha), Adam (Tommy McCarthy) Abigail and Hannah Secovnie; three great-grandchildren, Tessa and Teddy Rheingold and Pearl Turner. James was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Stuyvesant Falls. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958-1960 and worked for the Miron Company for many years. After his retirement, he started a lawn statuary business (J C Concrete) and enjoyed watching NASCAR, trips to Foxwoods and Saratoga, gardening and spending time with his beloved dachshound (Sparky). Calling hours will be Tuesday January 12 from 5-7 p.m. at McDonald-Valenti-Richards Funeral Home, 700 Town Hall Drive, Hudson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church in Stuyvesant Falls. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Stuyvesant Falls. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the National Kidney Foundation.

Poppy was such a sweetheart anad really had a love for his grandchildren. I am so sorry he is gone.
