Mary Scaringe Obituary

Scaringe, Mary COLONIE Mary Ravida Trifilo Scaringe, age 89, entered into eternal life Wednesday, May 21, 2008. Born in Albany, she was a communicant of the Church of Our Lady of Mercy, as well as a member of its rosary society. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Senior Citizens and St. Francis de Sales arts and crafts. Mary was also an active member of the West Albany Italian Benevolent Society Women's Auxiliary and a member of the I.B.S. Bocce League. Daughter of the late Anthony and Sarah Ravida. Beloved wife of the late Rosario Trifilo and Raymond M. Scaringe; loving mother of Carmen Trifilo and his wife Marie, and Marie Morris, all of Colonie; sister of Connie Testa and her husband Alfred; cherished grandmother of Andrew Morris and his wife Phyllis and Mary Bickar and her husband Andrew; also survived by five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held in the Lasak & Gigliotti Funeral Home, 8 Dudley Heights (Northern Blvd.), Albany, Saturday morning at 10 o'clock and 10:30 a.m. at the Church of Our Lady of Mercy. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may also call at the funeral home Friday 4 to 7 p.m. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may send a remembrance in Mary's name to the American Red Cross, 33 Everett Road, Albany, NY 12205 to be used locally or to a charity of one's choice.

CARMEN & FAMILY, MY SYMPATHY AND PRAYERS GO OUT TO YOU FOR LOSS OF YOUR MOM. I HAVE KNOWN MARY AND HER HUSBAND RAYMOND FOR MANY, MANY YEARS. MY FAMILY HAS BEEN FRIENDS WITH RAY AND PETE SCARINGE AND THEIR FAMILIES FOR MANY YEARS. MARY WAS A GREAT WOMAN. THE LAST TIME I SAW MARY WAS ASH WEDNESDAY AT ST. FRANCIS CHURCH. SHE WANTED TO MAKE SURE I KNEW THAT HER SISTER IN LAW JACKIE HAD PASSED AWAY A FEW MONTHS EARLIER. AS TIME GOES ON IT WILL HELP TO HEAL THE LOSS OF YOU MOM BUT HER MEMORY WILL LIVE ON FOREVER. AGAIN MY SYMPANY AND PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU NOW. PS I AM COLLEEN MURPHY'S SISTER IN LAW. WE WERE AT YOUR MOM'S FUNERAL MASS THIS MORNING.
