William L. Heckner Sr.

Heckner, William L. Sr. MISHAWAKA, Ind. William L. Heckner, age 60, residing in Mishawaka, formerly of Troy, passed away at 2:55 p.m. Wednesday, September 28, 2011 in his home. He was employed as an arborist, most recently working at Price Chopper Grocery Store in Troy, N.Y. Mr. Heckner was born on January 29, 1951 in Baltimore to William J. and Margaret (Miller) Heckner and has lived in Mishawaka since July 2011. On February 27, 1981 in Baltimore, he married Coleen O'Connor. William is survived by his loving wife, Coleen Heckner; son, B.J. Heckner of South Bend; his mother, Margaret Heckner of Baltimore; and two brothers, Robert (Cathy) Heckner of Baltimore, and Ronald (Tammie) Heckner of North Carolina. His father and one brother, James Heckner, both preceded him in death. William was a fourth degree member with Knights of Columbus. Masses of Intention will be held at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, October 16, 2011 at Little Flower Catholic Church, 54191 N. Ironwood, South Bend, Ind.; and at 9:15 a.m. Sunday, November 6, 2011 at Our Lady of Victory, 55 N. Lake Ave., Troy.
