Carter, Karen D. TROY Karen D. Carter, 74, of Euclid Ave. died Sunday, November 15, 2015, at St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Burke and Rachel George Reilly. She was a 1958 graduate of Mechanicville High School. Karen had been employed at the Troy Savings Bank, now First Niagara, for 20 years and retired in 2004. Her most enjoyed pastime was supporting her grandchildren in their various activities. She also was an avid New York Giants and Notre Dame fan. Karen is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Michael J. Carter Sr. and her devoted children, Michael J. Carter Jr. (Kristen) of Cohoes and Gregory D. Carter of Troy. She is sister of Matthew Reilly (Donna) of North Carolina, Mark Reilly of Glens Falls, the late Joan DeCelle and Gregory Reilly. She is the proud grandmother of Matthew, Benjamen, Sarah, Jeremy, Cameron and Makenna Carter. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, as well as her canine companions, Trouble and Ollie. Funeral services will be Thursday, November 19, 2015, at 9 a.m., from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St., (Rte. 32), Waterford and at 9:30 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Waterford. Interment will be in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery at a later date. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home office.
