7th grade study hall was an amazing combination of talking about painters, Broadway musicals and fashion designers. David "got it" and understood that I did too.
Meeting again in the 80's was a delight filled with laughter and stories.
Bravo for living your dreams.

I met David in the early 80's, when he directed the ad campaign for David Merrick and 42nd Street. At the time, I was working in entertainment advertising at the New York Times. Working with David was a pleasure. He was highly professional, truly classy. He worked diligently to promote 42nd Street and Merrick, the ultimate showman, who was not easy to please. I am sad to hear of his passing.

I met David, when I was attending California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Franciso. I worked as a Staff Nurse at Children's Hospital and had the pleasure of meeting /caring for him during some of his hositalizatiions. I graduated from CCPM in 1994 and left San Francisco, but remained in touch with him throughout the years. I left the US in 1999 and have lived/worked as a Podiatric Consultant in Qatar since. I just arrived in New York City 3 days ago and thought I might get a chance to see David once again. Unfortunately, I see it was not meant to be. I must return to Qatar Sept 4, so I will be unable to attend his Memorial Service. Sincerely, Dr, Dianne Stevens, DPM, MS, Podiatric Consultant/Al hor Hospital, HMC-Box 3050, Doha, Qatar.

Only new him when he became ill. He used to call to talk and he made me laugh some times.
It seems like he had a great life and may he rest in peace now. You will be missed.
