My memories of Joe include elementary school through graduation, the bus rides to and from school and Sunday afternoon ballgames when he would ride his bike to join the others in the neighborhood at our farm. We lost touch after graduation, but caught up a little at our Class of '67 reunion. His sense of humor hadn't changed...and his memory was pretty sharp, too! Please know that our sympathy is with you all as you treasure so many family memories and hold him in your heart.

Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss. It is too soon that he should go but rest assured he will not be forgotten. I'd worked with Joe at the Sheriffs Dept from 1989 to his retirement, and can honestly say he was an asset in his field and shared much of his wisdom to many for their continued safety, ran his people with an iron fist and a warm heart. To know Joe in his "golden years" he so enjoyed life and had a love for his family greater than the man himself. Stay strong in your weakest moments and know he is resting peacefully now, I believe those who leave us never really go because they stay in our hearts.
With deepest sympathy and the highest regards.

I have wonderful memories of Joe. He ALWAYS made me laugh. I remember walking to Slims (soda shop) after school and Joe would always wear that trench coat..never feeling self conscious, thinking he looked pretty spiffy :-) even though I'd remind him.....he didn't.Those and countless other times, I'll remember with a smile...just as I'll remember Joe!
