Catherine C. Sacchi

Sacchi, Catherine C. EAST GREENBUSH Catherine C. Sacchi, age 96, of East Greenbush died Monday, January 21, 2013 at Evergreen Commons. Catherine was born in Albany the daughter of Peter and Aurelia Aiossa. She was a file clerk for NYS Dept of Labor for over 30 years before retiring in 1990 and then did volunteer work for the city of Albany under Jerry Jennings, receiving the Volunteer of the Year award. She was a member of St Margaret Mary's Senior Citizens group. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Nicholas A. Sacchi; siblings, Louis Aiossa, Margaret Coniglio and Agnes Frone. Catherine is survived by her daughter, Rosemary (William) Diehl of Rensselaer. She was a proud grandmother of Kathleen "Dee" (Michael) Davidson, Nicholas (Toni) Diehl of East Greenbush, Linda (Ronald) St.Pierre of Troy, William J. (Linda) Diehl of Latham and Melissa (John) Manning of Rensselaer; great-grandmother of Stephanie Davidson and Nicole Diehl both of East Greenbush. Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral Friday morning at 9 o'clock from the Rockefeller Funeral Home, 165 Columbia Tpk., Rensselaer and 9:30 at the Church of St Mary where the liturgy of Christian death and burial will be celebrated. Friends and family are invited to her calling hours Thursday evening 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands, N.Y.
