Lula Matthews Hampton

HAMPTON Funeral Services for Mrs. Lula Matthews Hampton will be held at 2:30PM, SATURDAY, March 19, 2005 in New First Corinth Missionary Baptist Church, where she held membership, with Rev Louis Parker, Assistant Pastor, officiating. Mrs. Hampton of 1864 Kings Rd. passed away March 14, 2005 in a local hospital. She was a Washington, GA native, having resided in Jacksonville most of her life. She was employed by Duval County School Board until she retired after many years of dedicated service. As an Entrepreneur, Mrs. Hampton was also a Cosmetologist. Survivors include her nephews, Frederick D. (Anna) and Gralyn (Diane) Matthews; god daughter, Ms. Zephariah Cummings (Isaac); devoted cousin, Ms. Joe Ann Williams; daughter-in-law, Ms. Vernell S. Walker; a number of other cousins, including, Ms. Annette Jones (C.J.), Edward, Jr. (Sheila) and Willie J. Cuyler, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Hampton will rest in the mortuary for visitation of friends FRIDAY from 5PM until 8PM and in the church Saturday from 12:30PM until the hour of service. Entombment will be in the Garden Cloister Mausoleum of Evergreen Cemetery.
