THEODORE ROSENFELD Obituary

ROSENFELD Theodore Rosenfeld, 90, passed away on August 30, 2011 in Ormond Beach, FL after an extended illness. Teddy was born and grew up in New York City. He served in the US Army during WWII. He and his wife, Lila, later moved to Spring Valley, NY where they had an idyllic life raising their 3 daughters. He had been a resident of Jacksonville since 1965, where he lived until April of this year. A child of the depression, our dad never finished high school, but was a very successful businessman/salesman. Everybody loved Teddy and Teddy loved everyone. He especially loved his family. A father never loved his children more than our dad loved us. We always said, He was the best father a girl could have. Ted was a volunteer for the FCCJ artist series and at Baptist Medical Center, where he delivered flowers to patients, every Friday, for 20 years. He was an active member of the JCA, still playing racquet ball until the age of 86, as well as attending Yiddish classes. He also attended the Rabbi's class at The Temple, where he was a long time member. He was an avid golfer and loved the New York Yankees. Teddy was predeceased by his wife of 50 years, Lila, and his beloved grandson, Billy Maron. He is survived by his daughters, Helaine Morrow (Kelly) of Ormond Beach, FL, Arlene Kezwer (Glen) of Kullu, India, and Lois Rosenfeld of Jacksonville, FL. He is also survived by his grandson, Jeffrey Maron (Kathy) and 2 great granddaughters, Kaylin and Karley Maron, as well as his loving companion, Clara Jaffe. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 1st in Temple Cemetery located in Evergreen Cemetery (Temple Gate on Winona Road) with Rabbi Michael Matuson as Officiant. The family would like to thank Clare Bridge Ormond, Vitas Hospice and especially Clare Bridge Jacksonville, for all their excellent care, love and support given to us and our dad over the past 2 and a half years. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Teddy's name may be made to Vitas Hospice of Volusia-Flagler, 2381 Mason Ave., Suite 100, Daytona Beach, FL 32117. Rest well sweet Teddy. We love you. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home of Mandarin, 11801 San Jose Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32223. www.hgmandarin.com (904) 288-0025. Dear Helaine: I never had the honor of meeting your dad, but I still remember you telling me about him during our short but memorable time together in Miami Beach. I hope you are well and happy. Stu Sloane and I saw each other about 5 years ago for the first time since the early '70. Seems like yesterday we were all just starry-eyed teens, now on the edge of Medicare. The older we get, the faster time seems to travel. You were fortunate to have your dad with you so long. Both my parents passed away far to soon.

Dearest Lois, Helaine, and Arlene, I met all of you and your father many years ago in Jacksonville. I was also taken by how gentle and loving your dad was. Arlene and Glen are good friends of ours here in Kullu. Reading your beautiful words brought tears to my eyes (and Arlene will tell you that I never cry. We love the being that he is. He was that love, he is that love, and he will remain love. Because of him you are all shining in his love. He is always with us in that love which alone is everywhere. I send you all my fondest regards and support to get you through this difficult time and to remain tuned into love, as love is all there is, pure, free and forever the same! Shree (Sherrie Wade)

Helaine, Lois and Arlene, I am so sorry for your loss. Helaine and Lois, you know Teddy was my sweetheart! You know he taught me one Yiddish word... I'm not sure of the spelling but the word means "trouble." Teddy knew me well. lol I have missed him dearly since he moved and will mourn this loss with you. Much love to you and your family.
