What can I say???? I am still shocked! I was just thinking of you when I was reading obituaries announcement I find your name. Ms. Phyllis I will be missing you. Thank you so much for your tireless effort to serve St. Paul's. Your willingness to wait for me when I'm running late to get something done at your office. You will surely be missed. Although we have left St. Paul you remained in our heart.

Phyllis and I became friends decades ago when she owned "Phyl's Closet" in Avondale, where I often shopped. When my husband had quadruple bypass surgery in 1984 she waited with me and held me together outside of the open heart recovery room prior to seeing my husband after surgery.I would have never made it without her. Her humor was the best as was her sense of style! I admired and loved your Mother and will always miss her. Condolences to the family.

I grew up coming to visit my Grandma Boo-Boo, Dot Boozer, on Mallory street. And every time we'd visit, we would stop by Ms. Phyllis' house or see Mr. Carl working in the yard. My favorite memory of your mom was at Grandma Boo-Boo's rosary service. She was the first to stand up and tell some ridiculous story about my Grandma with racoon's or squirrels in her attic or something. And after that, people spent over an hour sharing memories of my grandmother. It was truly a blessing for our family. She could always make everyone smile, even in the most difficult of moments. I hope God' peace brings you comfort knowing she is with her Savior.

I never realized how much Phyllis touched my life until she left us. She has caused me to stop and reflect on so much. The business of living in today's society has numbed me to the racing by of time. Its hard to believe Phyllis was the secretary at St. Pauls for the last ten years. It seems like yesterday that she took over for Susan Capley. I will miss her sweet smile and gracious approach toward everything. What a fighter she was, a true warrior. You all are in my prayers.

Miss Phyllis, Your faith in God and your amazing strength, determination and courage through your fight have all been an inspiration to me! I don't think I ever told you that it was your firm & caring, almost mothering, treatment of the students (and staff and families) that I saw when Abigail was in VPK is one of the reasons I chose to move the kids to St. Paul's. I knew that you would make sure they would be looked after just as if I were there. I always found your honesty refreshing. You never failed to speak your mind, and it is one of the MANY things I loved about you. The kids and I miss you dearly. Abigail wishes she could give you one last hug, Donavan hopes you heard their song for you, but sings it with his prayers just incase, and Patrick says the school just isn't the same without you there. He is trying to find the right way to show you how much he loved and respected you, and decided it would be to somehow serve the Lord in your memory. You made an impact on so many lives and we all love and miss you.

While studying for my leadership degree, I was taught to make good friends with the administrative assistant. The administrative assistant is the one who rules the school. We all know Phyllis, that you ran St. Paul's! I am so thankful that you were my sidekick. My dear "Willis," you gave me so much. You encouraged me to take risks, talked me through problems, laughed with me every day, and kept the sales people away at all costs! You taught me lessons about life, love, and motherhood. You were always honest with me, even letting me know which dresses looked like "potato sacks." You eased my mind many a day while I made you crazy with my OCD. We laughed a lot with our bantering and shared a worry or two. Thank you "Willis." As we said every afternoon my friend, "Love you! Get some rest!"

Phyllis and Carl were so much fun! I will never forget the Cherry Kool Aid hair dye that Phyllis and the Fab Five used to color their hair red! I loved it! I think of that when I am on Aisle 4 at Publix every week. We will all miss her. Phyllis has left a great legacy at St. Paul's.
