CHARLES HIERS Obituary

HIERS Charles L. Hiers, 77, of Hilliard, Fl., passed away Thursday May 12, 2011. He was born February 7, 1934 in Moultrie, Ga., to Lancy and Mattie Hiers. Mr. Hiers is now reunited with his wife and love of his life of 53 years Louise A Hiers (March 4, 1940 - June 18, 2008) as well as his daughter Helen Hiers and sister Alene Hiers. He was the founder and owner of Hiers Vault Co., serving Nassau and surrounding counties for over 40 years, and has been in funeral service for most of his adult life. He was a loving and cherished Husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. His hard work and generosity towards others will be greatly missed. His survivors include 2 daughters Diane Bornestein (Richard) and Mary Hall (Sammy), 2 sons Tony Chip Hiers and Charles Allen Chuck Hiers, 3 brothers Jimmy, Wayne and Tony Hiers, 5 grandchildren Christopher Charles Stewart (Kat), Danielle Slader (Erik), Jesika Hiers, Priscilla Lambert and Patricia Singley (David) and 5 great grandchildren Christopher Charles Stewart, III, Greyson Hiers and Ally, Nick and Samantha Singley. Funeral Services will be held in the Chapel of Callahan Funeral Home, Callahan, Fl., Wednesday May 18, 2011 at 2 PM with visitation one hour prior to service. Burial will be in Jones Cemetery, Callahan, Fl. Condolences may be expressed at www.callahanfh.com. Arrangements under the direction of Ellis L. McAninch, Jr., L.F.D.
