Jim L. Barnes, Jr.

January 29, 2010

For all those who have placed or will place a message of condolence into this Guest Book for my father, Jimmy L. Barnes, Sr., our family thanks you for your love and support. Dad’s life gave us a lot of love, laughter, and music. He had many friends and he was a good friend to many people. His passing has made us even more aware to appreciate and value the time we can spend with our families and friends. Dad’s greatest treasure on earth was his wife, Nina. This wonderful woman and Dad shared their richness of life for 48 years. We love her and will continue to surround her with our love and support. My wife, Gloria, and I have always enjoyed how Dad and Nina are loving Grandparents to our two sons, Jake and Eli. Our sons have many great memories of visiting ‘Grandma and Grandpa’. Dad told me often that he loved me. Those words are important from a father to a son. Dad showed us how to be strong and determined in our life. I told him often how proud I was of him. He served his family, he served his country in WWII, and for me, he served as a role model of a good man, a good husband, and a good father. I’m proud to be his son. I love him and I will miss him. Thank you for your thoughts.

We are so very sorry for the loss of your father. Just knowing what a wonder person Jim is and the loving husband he is to Gloria (both very special friends of ours), and having had the opportunity to have met Don, Mr. Jimmy Barnes had to have been a wonderful father. I also know this due to the many happy and caring comments Jim shared with us about his father. We are thinking of you and your family.

With our love and heartfelt sympathy,
Lynette and Rob, San Clemente, CA

Dear Aunt Nina, Jimmy, Brenda, Don, Deanna, Jan, and the rest of the family,

We received the news of Uncle James' death with great sadness. We wish we were able to be there with you during this time to share the grief and to celebrate Uncle James' life. We were not able to be with him often, but I have so many wonderful memories of times we were together, from my childhood and as an adult. The love that he and Daddy shared touched me. What I will most remember about Uncle James is how funny he was and his love for family. He was always talking about his children with so much pride. I will miss him. Please know that we are thinking of each of you and praying for you here in Peru.

I am so sorry for the loss you morn right now. Uncle James was such a great man with such a good heart. He taught me how to sing red hot momma the last time I got to visit with him. He is in a better place now. I just hope now the Lord is with you through this journey I know goodbyes are never easy.

Take Care and God Bless,
Stacy Rosacia

Dear Aunt Nina, Jimmy, Brenda, Don, Deanna, Jan and all the family,

We were sorry to hear that Uncle James passed away. Although we didn't see him often, we loved him and the dear uncle and man that he was. His family was important to him and he loved you all very much. He also showed deep concern and affection for us when we saw him at Daddy's funeral. We also loved Uncle James' great sense of humor, which was much like Daddy's. Daddy joked he would spend 2 hours trying to find the funniest cards in the store for Uncle James' birthdays, and it was evident that Uncle James did the same for Daddy's. They are now together again in Heaven, sitting at the feet of Jesus and, perhaps, sharing a chuckle or two. We loved Uncle James and will miss him. May God bless all of you with His comfort, strength and peace.

With our love & heartfelt sympathy,
Helen and Barry
