ALBERTIE Please Sign the Guestbook @ Jacksonville.com Sister Merdis (Bit) Albertie transistioned from her earthly home on November 6, 2010. She was born to Sidney and Gussie Gates on September 7, 1916. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great, great grandmother, mother-in- law, aunt and loyal friend. She leaves to cherish memories her loving a devoted children: Flemming Albertie (Cora), Mae Eva Johnson (T.J.), Juanita Grey (Kayto), Joseph Albertie, Gussie Garvin (Rev. Alex), Dea. Jonas Albertie (Gloria), Shirley Turner, Timothy Albertie (Ann) and Dea. Charles Albertie (Beverly); devoted granddaughters: Sandra Newman and Wanda Valdes; sisters: Ellen Hardy and Queenie Albertie; sisters-in-law: Mary Gates and Mildred Littles; twenty five grandchildren; forty eight great grandchildren; twenty four great, great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many sorrowing friends. The homegoing service will be held Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 7141 New Kings Rd. The public viewing will be held at Lewis-Smith Mortuary, 6665 New Kings Rd., from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, November 12, 2010.
