Please accept my condolences for the sad loss of your wife and mother. But what a wonderful woman, to love and inspire and bring about so much in her family! Such personality, zest for life and tender involvement wherever she could care and help. Now in God's hands, somehow she continues her loving watch over you all. One does not have to be related to a person to mourn them. I was lucky to see Jerry at the 1980 concert here in Jacksonville FL, then I met her at the concert in Jacksonville in 1985...Jerry & I started corresponding 1980, as I had a few pictures of Byron to give her, since that was Byron's 1st concert in Jax. I could go right to her gate, since the Whitman's do not live far from here, but I would never do that as I respected their privacy. We were "penpals" from 1980-1999, as that was the last I heard from her, because this was the time when things started to happen, so that she was not able to continue to write. I have always thought she was a very nice person to take the time to write to me with all the other things she had to do. I use to have a gift shop in their home town of Middleburg & I always had people coming in who knew her & told me how friendly & nice a person she was.
I feel Blest that I made the effort to go to her viewing. I hope all will be well with Slim & the rest of her family. GodBlessYou&Yours..........

My deepest condolences to Slim, Byron, and Sharon. I have so many happy memories of traveling the world with this remarkable family. Jerry was truly the force behind the whole operation! I know the last few years have been very difficult, and I know Jerry is in a better place, so my thoughts and prayers go to Slim as he moves forward alone.

Jerry was "The Wind Beneath Slim's Wings." She was the driving force in The Slim Whitman legacy. She wrote many of his songs. Although she didn't write it, she once told me that her favorite was "More Than Yesterday." She was truly the person that we have to thank for sharing her husband with the world. I only talked with her a few times, but she had that sparkle and twinkle that let you know she was a very special lady. She will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to Slim and his family.

Mrs. Whitman played piano beautifully at the Church of the Brethren in Jacksonville Florida when she accompanied Mr. Whitman. I loved to hear her play. I will miss her generous smile and laughter. My deepest sympathy to Mr. Whitman, Byron, Sharron, and family. God bless you all.

My deepest condolences to Slim and his family. I had the great pleasure of meeting Slim, Bryon, and Jerry in Jackpot, Nev. I had a copy of Slim's book and Jerry signed it too. My daughter drew a picture of Slim singing and he showed it to Jerry, she smiled at it. What a blessing she was to all who knew her. May the good Lord bless and keep you.

Slim, as a friend from the past, let me say how sorry I was to hear of your wife's passing. . It's been a long long time since we've seen each other, but I think of you often. . My sincere condolences over your wife's passing. . I hope she did not suffer . My wife has an illness and I have to stay with her almost 24/7. . I am back to my roots however, playing my steel guitar when and where I can. We will unfortunately be unable to be with you at this time as we are in West Virginia, currently snowed in, till next week. Sr. Jerry has graduated to receive the rewards we each hope and work for all our redeemed lives and though the hour is currently dark, yet the Sonshine will soon peer through the clouds of mortal trials. The say behind every man is a good woman and Jerry was that woman behind the success of her husband Slim. She helped him on his way in the early days, with encouragement and did his announcements, made his outfits and wrote some of his songs. No doubt without Jerry's encouragement, Slim would have retired much sooner, so here's one big thank you for a kind, talented and dedicated lady!
My sincerest thoughts are with Slim and his family at this sad time and I hope you all find the courage and strength to continue to try and enjoy life without Jerry, as I'm sure that is what she would have wanted.

It was a pleasure to attend the Jax Church of the Brethren in my formative years. I remember Slim & Jerry sitting in the back row. They were always happy, smiling and giggling together. The love they had for each other and their family was apparent. I enjoyed having Mrs. Whitman as my Sunday School teacher during my teen years. She was a "tough cookie" in the Sunday School room and did not put up with any nonsense. She was 100% dedicated to her faith. I remember also her talents as a seamstress. She could sew anything! Hers was a life well lived and she left a great legacy behind. Sincere sympathy to all her family. I know she will be missed.
