Calvin Deininger Obituary

Calvin H. Deininger, 85, of Media, Pa., died Thursday, Feb. 25, in the Riddle Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Marjorie C. (Heim) Deininger. They were married for 61 years.
A certified public accountant, he was a partner of KPMG.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Calvin H. and Mabel M. (Smith) Deininger, and resided in Tamaqua before moving to Media with his family.
A 1942 graduate of Tamaqua High School, he served in the Army from 1943-46 and spent time in Europe.
He was a longtime member of the American Legion.
Deininger was a past president of the National Association of Accountants.
He enjoyed golf, bowling, watching football and baseball games, especially the Eagles and Phillies, and playing pinochle with his family and friends.
A devoted family man, he participated in many family activities.
He was a longtime active member of the Reformation Lutheran Church, Media, where he served on the finance committee and was a 20-year member of the endowment committee.
Surviving are his widow; a daughter, Marjorie J. Kobasa of Springfield; a son, Calvin H. of Wallingford; a sister, Ruth Yoder of West Reading; nine grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Gail C. Myers; and two brothers, Edward and Guy.
His funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 2, in the church. Contributions in his name may be made to the church, 102 W. Rose Tree Rd., Media, Pa. 19063, or to the Samaritan Fund of Granite Farms Estates, 1343 W. Baltimore Pike, Media, Pa. 19063. The J. Nelson Rigby Funeral Home, Media, was in charge of the arrangements.
