Pamela WOLOSZ Obituary

WOLOSZ, Pamela Joanne Pamela Joanne Wolosz passed away on 10 January, 2017. Pam was born in Kenosha, WI, on 28 March, 1964. She graduated from Kenosha's Temper High School in 1983 and went to Purdue University under an Air Force ROTC scholarship. She entered the Air Force after graduating in 1987. She later finished a masters degree in Engineering Management from University of Anchorage Alaska. Pam's military career lasted 20 years, during which she performed a wide range of jobs. She worked testing and certifying aero medical equipment, flew as a weapons officer and systems director on E-3 AWACS aircraft, and directed testing efforts for NATO aircraft undergoing modification. She worked with Congressional members on budgeting matters during her time at the Pentagon, and finished out her career managing innovative front-line sensor systems. Her military career took her literally around the world from Texas to Oklahoma, Alaska, Germany, Washington DC, and Ohio. Pam and her family moved to Oregon in 2015 to be closer to family and lead a more active outdoor lifestyle. Pam was an avid hiker who enjoyed exploring the trails near her home as well as other areas around the Ashland area. She fell in love with the Oregon coast of Bandon and enjoyed returning to that area. Pam's post-military life was extremely full and active. She home schooled her son Zeke through fifth grade, volunteered at numerous organizations, and mentored high school students interested in engineering or military careers. Her daily life centered around her family and her interests in genealogy. She also ran a pet sitting service for the Ashland area, and had recently moved in to writing professionally. Pam is survived by her mother, Joanne Klitgard Wolosz, her husband, James (Jim) Haswell Holmes, her daughter Lydia Joanne Holmes, and her son Ezekiel (Zeke) James Holmes, all of Ashland. Her brother Gregory Paul Wolosz resides in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Pam is also survived by her nieces Jacqueline Gaines, of Rhinelander, WI and Joanna Hilger of Antigo, WI. Her living aunts and uncles are Roberta (Klitgard) and Ray Thiesen, of San Diego, CA.; Amber (Klitgard) McIntrye Barnes,Rhinelander, WI.; and Beth (Klitgard) Nichols of Fort Worth, TX. Pam had stepsisters Karyn Siegrist, of Durango, CO, and Barbara Ellman, West Salem, WI. Her stepbrother Dennis Walosz resides in Foley, AL. Pam was preceeded in death by her father and both paternal and maternal grandparents. Memorial services are at the Ashland, OR Universal Unitarian church on Friday, 27 Jan., at 11am. Pam will be laid to rest with military honors in the Willamette Military Cemetary on 3 Feb at 2pm. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the SICSA Pet Adoption Center in Dayton, OH.
