Jim was a very nice person, well liked in the city. He was a practical joker, too, once having a surprise on his wife by being wheeled into a dinner on an ambulance cot! We know-we were the ambulance company who accommodated him! We all will miss such a wonderful person!

Mr Walter's smile and laugh were always a pleasant part of my visits to my dad's office at CCB. He was always very welcoming. Another fond memory are the years the four VPs would have their annual New Years Eve celebration at my parents house. Mr Walter was always so jovial. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Mrs Walter. Blessings to you and your family.

Jeannie and Family,
So sorry to read that Jim passed away on Thursday. Jim made a real difference in the lives of many people as both a banker and community volunteer in Fremont and beyond. His activities on behalf of his community are too numerous to count. Jim will be greatly missed but his spirit will live on in those he helped along the way.
My sympathy to the Walter family. I will keep Jim and your family in my prayers.
Eternal rest grant unto Jim, O Lord. May he rest in peace. Amen.

Jim Walter, a friend for life.

I first meet Jim when we both live on Alger St. back in 1942 or 1943, my brother Art and I play in Jim's back yard, (some kind
of baseball game) and we became friends.
Jim went to St. Ann's School and we went to Stamm, so our paths crossed on the weekends and during summer vacations, that's until
we moved out of the city and then our only connection with
Jim was with his Grandmother Walter who when to our
Church and she keep us up with his growing up.
As the years passed, so did our paths, with our banking
careers, we became competitors but still friends.
We became close again as we both becoming members of the Fremont Exchange Club. It was good to be associated with Jim again having the same interest and working on community projects together.
Well as things happen, I got hired at Croghan Colonial Bank
and again Jim and I become even closer as now working together.
Soon Jim retired and within a couple of years so did I.
After we moving back into the city to the Cottage Grove, well low and behold Jim and Jean purchased a home at Cottage Grove.
Now we are neighbors again, I was so happy to have
my childhood friend back in the same neighborhood.
Our lives crossed paths many times and in many ways as
Neighbors, Competitors, Exchange's, fellow workers and back to neighbors. It was always good having Jim as a friend.

I will miss my friend Jim Walter,
