Alton Liebnau Obituary
Alton "Al" Liebnau of Toledo, OH went to be with his Lord surrounded by his family on Saturday, March 24, 2018. He was 95 years old. The son of Frederick and Mildred Liebnau, Al was born in Toledo, OH on May 6, 1922. Al served in the Army Air Force as a 1st Lieutenant, 512th Bomb Squadron, 376th Heavy Bomb Group, 15th Air Force, Bari, Italy in WWII. As a Navigator, he flew 47 missions in Europe and North Africa. He married Vivian Barrett on October 9, 1943 and they recently celebrated their 74th anniversary. He went on to graduate from the University of Toledo, College of Pharmacy where he received his degree in 1949.
Al is survived by his loving wife, Vivian; daughter, Christine Benham; brother, John Liebnau (Karen); son-in-law, Brett Krewson; granddaughters, Rachel Benham, and Lindsey and Emily Krewson; great-grandson, Max Anthony and cousin, Reverend David Liebnau (Linda) and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Karen Krewson; sister-in-law, Sally Duncan; sister, Ruth Brandt, and his parents.
Per Al's wishes, there will be no viewing or memorial service. He will be buried with Full Military Honors in Patterson, OH. Memorials may be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or Trinity Lutheran Church.
