James WOLFGANG Obituary

WOLFGANG James William James William Wolfgang, Sr., age 68, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2012, in the comfort of his Sylvania home, surrounded by his loving family. Jim worked at GM Powertrain, for 28 years, as a cutter/ grinder and was a member of the UAW Local No. 14 and the Teamster's Union- where he once served as the steward. He was also generous enough to volunteer at Flower Hospital, for 5 years. Jim was a very talented artist, an avid painter, and was skilled at wood-working and jewelry-making. He also belonged to the Toledo Artist Club and the Sylvania Senior Center. Family was important to Jim. Traveling with his wife to visit them often was a priority. His children will cherish many memories, including their many fishing trips together. He will be dearly missed, especially by his dog, Lady who enjoyed their walks so much. Jim's final sentiment to his wife was..."I just want to be with you." Jim is survived by his wife, of 18 years, Judy; children, James William (Amy) Wolfgang, Jr., Timothy Wolfgang, Michael Wolfgang, and Amy (John) Garcia; stepchildren, Dennis (Karen) Longeway, Patti (Scott) Smotherman, Sheryl (Charlie) Deck, Charlie (Zandra) Longeway, Tammy (Todd) Turley, Bobby (Beth) Longeway, Tanya (Rob) Redway, and Tony Longeway; 23 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren, and siblings, Alan Wolfgang, Lyle (Sallie) Wolfgang, Shirley (Dick) Bartels, and Carol Russell. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Verna (Hammond) Wolfgang, and siblings, Millard, Morris, and Carl. Visitation will be at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St., Sylvania, on Wednesday, January 4, 2012, from 3-8 p.m., where the funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. The family suggests memorial donations be given to Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.reebfuneralhome.com
