Robert F. BLADEL

BLADEL Robert F. Robert F. Bladel, of the Point/Shoreland Community, died unexpectedly on Saturday, September 11, 2010, in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center at the age of 84. Bob was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church; he belonged to O.U.R. organ club and Great Escape organ club. He was his grandson's "greatest hockey fan"; he loved to bowl, fish, walk and care for his 'furry friends.' Bob was a veteran of WWII and served in the United States Navy. He worked as a finisher for 41 years, retiring in 1988 from Mead Containers. Bob loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; they were an important part of his life, and he will be truly missed by all. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Frank E. and Goldie E. (Hosler) Bladel. Left to cherish his memory are loving wife of 61 years, Shirley (Hofmann) Bladel; children, Robert "Bugs"(Diane) Bladel, Linda (Rodney) Stroshine, and Jay (Denise) Bladel; grandchildren, Robert Stroshine, Robin (Tom) Millets, Todd Bladel, Jenna (Don) Wood, and Dustin Bladel; great-grandchildren, Brandi, Ben, Ava, Hayden and Hannah; sister, Bernice Keeling and special nieces, Susan, Nancy, Kay and Dena. Visitation will begin Tuesday, September 14, 2010, from 2-4 and 6-8pm in the David R. Jasin-Hoening Funeral Home; and on Wednesday, September 15, 2010, from 10-11am at Messiah Lutheran Church with Funeral Services following at 11 am with Pastor James Van Brussell officiating. Entombment will be in Toledo Memorial Park.
