Patrick STEWART Obituary

STEWART Patrick H. Patrick H. "Pat" Stewart, age 68, passed away Monday, November 28, 2011, from Mesothelioma. Pat was born August 21, 1943, in Toledo to Theodore and Laura (Beverly) Stewart. A graduate of Waite High School, Pat served in the US Coast Guard as a boatswain's mate on the USCGC Taney. After returning from the service, he worked at the Toledo Shipyard and later for his father at Stewart Maintenance as a roofer before starting his own business, Toledo Maintenance and Building Restoration, which specialized in commercial roofing. Pat was an avid boater and loved visiting the Lake Erie Islands with his close friends and family and listening to Jimmy Buffet. He enjoyed traveling, especially to Canada and Las Vegas where he could do a little gambling. Pat was also a 29 year member of the American Legion Przybylski Post #642. Pat is survived by his wife, Marguerite "Peggy" Stewart; children, Cynthia (Tom) Driftmeyer, Scott (Susan) Stewart, James P. (Lisa) Stewart, Amanda P. (Cory Helmick) Stewart, Gene "Beaner" (Beth) Hugg, Patrick M. Stewart, Ashley P. (Derrick Hoeppner) Stewart and Laura M. (Tevin Boykin) Stewart; and grandchildren, Chelsea, Conner, Camren, Destiny, Nicole, Christy, Steven, Heather, and Matthew "Bunky", and brother-in-law, Matthew Rice. He was preceded in death by his father, Theodore Stewart; mother, Laura Stewart; step-father, Elwin McGee; and brothers, James and Theodore Stewart, wife, Rebecca M. Stewart and his many special English Springer Spaniels companions. Pat's family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to Southern Care Hospice, Heritage Health Care, and Nightingales Harvest for their support throughout Pat's illness. Visitation will be held at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) on Friday from 2-9:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Nightingales Harvest, 4427 Talmadge Rd. #206 Toledo, OH 43623. Another year is coming up. And you are missed as these years go by. As my life has progressed into adulthood, the pain of you not being here for it all, will never get easier. I hope you and Mom are up there watching over me and I am making you proud. When life gets tough, I remember how tough you would be! Especially on your last days.
