John was a great friend when we were kids In Florida, Ohio. Swimming in the Maumee River and playing baseball. John could hit a baseball a mile. Him and Jerry Heard and Jerry's Grandfather lead me into a successful pitching career. A real classy person.

Tony,
Your dad was the best. We've known him for many years. He always went out of his way to stop and say hi or tell us a joke! I would consider him "Presidential" and you should put up his portrait at the Inn! Keep his tradition going! We will miss him. See you soon!

With tears in my eyes I remember our days at Florida High School. John and I were 'best buds' growing up and he was my battery mate in Little League. Karen and I always enjoyed visiting with John at one of his restaurants upon visits to NW Ohio--food was delicious and certainly abundant, best of all was the visit with the same 'old John.'

John leaves a legacy of children and grandchildren and will remain a restaurateur legend in NW Ohio.

My sympathies to all, your will be missed my friend.
