Andrew Michael
Andrew Michael Huff, age 66, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017 at his home in Toledo. Andy was born November 27, 1950 in Houston, TX to Ralph and Martha (Jackson) Huff. He grew up in Toledo's Old West End where his football career began at Rosary Cathedral Grade School. He played for St. Francis de Sales High School (Class of ‘68) and for Notre Dame University where he was voted MVP in 1972. Andy was an “armchair philosopher” who was passionate about the Big Picture of life. Andy was employed at Ort Tool and Die since 2007. He was a health food enthusiast who enjoyed gardening, lifting weights, working out, and writing. Andy was an avid Notre Dame football fan. He had recently had hip surgery and was back to feeling vital and healthy.
Andy is survived by his children, Liati Angelique Huff of Boulder, CO, Andy Klunk, Chris Huff, and Michael Klunk of Peoria, AZ; brothers, Jim (Jane), Bill (Karen), Marty (Bridget), and Tom (Barbara) Huff; a niece and many nephews. In addition to his parents, Andy was also preceded in death by his youngest son, Michael Andrew Huff.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at St. Francis de Sales High School, 2323 W. Bancroft, Toledo, OH 43607. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Phoenix Earth Food Co-op, 1447 W. Sylvania, Ave., Toledo, OH 43612 or C/J Farms, 18637 Rd. 168, Defiance, OH 43512. Online condolences may be shared at

I have been away from Toledo for almost 50 years and as our 50th high school reunion nears, I have just learned that Andy died over a year ago.
My deepest heartfelt condolences to all his friends and families. He was truly a fine young man and one of my classmates at St. Francis. I have fond memories of him and hope his families have found some peace over the last 13 months.

I was deeply saddened just today to learn of Andy's passing. I played starting right tackle in our senior year , doing my best to block for Andy back in the backfield. The guy had no quit, and had a fifth gear when he got in the open through the hole. He played most of 1967 with a special helmet because he had his bell rung a few times but kept on chugging. I have been thinking about the past, and praying off and on all day for my friend Andy. He was one of maybe ten kids who came to a surprise birthday party for me on my 17th birthday. Never forgetting Andy. Great guy. Quiet strength. All our prayers, and all our condolences, to Marty, and to the whole family as well.

To the Huff Family,
Andy was a good friend of our family and we will miss him dearly. Andy worked with my son Joe at Grogan Chrysler-Plymouth on Jackman Road.
I will remember Andy's smile, love of football and giving heart. Please know that we will never forget Andy and want to express our deepest sympathy to Andy's family. May Andy rest in peace.

My deepest condolences to the Huff Family. I was 2 years behind Andy at SFS and we played for Coach Mattingly. Andy had passion for the game and was the best running back I ever saw. RIP Andy.
