EDWARD ZAMONSKI

Edward Zamonski ORIENTAL, NC Edward Stephen Zamonski, 90, passed away in Oriental, NC, on Dec. 22, 2015. Ed was born on March 20, 1925, to Lillian and Stephen Zamonski, in Trenton, NJ. Ed was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle. During World War II, at the age of 17, he enlisted in the Navy and served onboard the Battleship New Jersey as an electrician's mate first class. He was a brother to his sisters, a Trenton High School graduate, a Navy man, a World War II veteran, a Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute graduate, an engineer, a teacher, a mayor and committee man of Ewing Township, NJ, a Parks and Recreation Director, a sailor, a dancer, a swimmer, a walker, a bike rider, a bridge player, a pinochle player, a chess player, a reader and a chocolate ice cream lover. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Evelyn and Thomas Cunningham, Elaine and Edward Allison and their son and nephew Edward S. Allison and his second wife Karin Weingartner. He is survived by his daughters, Mary Ellen Dondero of Norwood, MA; Jeanne and Robert Black of Doylestown, PA, and their daughters, Alexandra and Sarah; one son, Stephen Zamonski of Lakewood, NJ; his first wife, Anne Zamonski of West Trenton, NJ; close friend, Tove Arnfast of Oriental, NC; niece Barbara Sproull of Georgetown, TX, and nephew Thomas Allison of Chandler, AZ.
