Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 1, 2014.
Frank E. Music, 85, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., passed away Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, at his home. Frank Music was born March 3, 1929, a native of a coal camp of Estill, Ky., and a first generation son of parents, Paul and Elizabeth (Sezur) Music, from Poland and the Ukraine. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret L. Music, of Hastings; a son, Frank Music Jr., of Snellville, Ga.; and by sisters, Pauline Music Duenhoft and Ellen Music McElroy. He leaves behind a sister, Genevieve Music Kline, of Houston, Texas. Frank was a 45 graduate of Lexington Latin High and received his Bachelor of Science from Villa Madonna College in 52, followed by a Master of Science from Boston College, Mass. He joined the Army and completed basic training and non-commissioned officer training at Indiantown Gap. He later attended Officer Candidate School and was commissioned as a second lieutenant. During training in El Paso, Texas, he met his wife of 58 years and the love of his life, Lt. Margaret Dobos, Army Nursing Corps, where they were deployed to Germany to become part of the Occupation Forces. He was recalled to service with the rank of captain in 1960, during the Berlin Crisis. They leave behind three children, Paul, of Jensen Beach, Fla., Lisa, of Hollywood, Fla., and Mark, of Port St. Lucie; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Frank began work as an instrument engineer at Westinghouse Bettis Atomic Power Plant, then a senior engineer at Jackson and Moreland in Boston, Mass., a supervising engineer at Ebasco in Atlanta, Ga., and retiring as a senior consulting engineer in 92 at Ebasco-Stuart, Fla. He was licensed as a professional engineer in Florida and five other states. He was a grand knight in the Knights of Columbus and a life member of the VFW, Post 10066 of Jensen Beach. He leaves behind a wonderful family and a wonderful group of close friends and neighbors in South Florida and the entire United States. He also leaves behind a well-prepared generation of Musics, some of which are yet to arrive.
