Julia H. Hoffer

Julia H. Hoffer, 86, of Leechburg, died Monday, Aug. 20, 2012, in Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights. Born Nov. 5, 1925, in West Leechburg, she was a daughter of the late Alexander and Mary (Bak) Pityk. A lifelong resident of Leechurg, Mrs. Hoffer was a 1943 graduate of Leechburg High School and member of Christ the King Roman Catholic Church. A homemaker, she worked at Allegheny Ludlum prior to her marriage. She enjoyed flower gardening and loved spending time with her family. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Louis J. Hoffer, who died May 17, 2003; daughter, Susan (Hoffer) Wygonik, in 1977; two brothers and two sisters. Survivors include her son, David (Laurie) Hoffer; daughter, Sally (Anthony) Stano; four grandchildren, Dr. Stacie (Joseph) Nowikowski, Nathan Hoffer, Amanda (Matthew) Iwaniec and Leah (fiance, Kevin Hengelbrok) Stano; a great-grandson, Evan Nowikowski, all of West Leechburg; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation was held in the CURRAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 300 Market St., Leechburg. Mass of Christian Burial was held in Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, Park Road, Leechburg, with Father Joseph Trupkovich as celebrant.
