Mary L. Blais Delmont Mary L. (Shea) Blais, 79, of Delmont, previously of North Huntingdon, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 19, 2012, at her home, with family by her side. She was born Dec. 24, 1932, in Massachusetts, a daughter of the late Charles E. and Julia (Hanley) Shea. Mary was the matriarch and last surviving member of her immediate family. Mary was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who always put her family first. She and her husband, Phil, were avid boaters and members of the Maryland Yacht Club. Together, they shared many trips and special times throughout their lives, but Mary's most favorite trips were to Florida. Upon her husband's retirement, they did many different things and had more time to truly enjoy life. Following his death, Mary became more involved in her local Cloverleaf community and participated in many activities. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Phillip D. Blais; brothers, Charles and Richard Shea, and sister, Janet Craig. Mary is survived and will be missed by her loving and devoted family, her children, David Blais and his wife, Mindy, of Virginia Beach, Va., John Blais and his wife, Tobi, of Irwin, and Suzanne Klaus and her husband, Rod, of Delmont; her dear sister-in-law, Kay Blais; many nieces and nephews and special friends. Mary leaves behind her cat, Lacey, who dearly misses her. She will be especially missed by her grandchildren, Stacey Klaus, Nicholas Klaus and Aiden Blais, all of whom she cherished. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the VAIA FUNERAL HOME INC., 463 Athena Drive, Delmont, 724-468-1177. A blessing service for Mary will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, immediately following the visitation, with Father Joseph Bonafed, of St. John Baptist de la Salle Catholic Church, officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mary's memory may be made to Excela Health Home Care and Hospice, 134 Industrial Park Road, Suite 1600, Greensburg, PA, 15601.
