Morris L. Sarver

Morris L. Sarver, 84, of Buffalo Township, passed away peacefully Friday, July 20, 2012, at UPMC St. Margaret in Pittsburgh. Morris was born Feb. 24, 1928, in Sarver. He was the son of the late Mazie E. (Smith) and John Morris 'JM' Sarver. Morris worked as a truck driver for 50 years. Morris drove for for a number of different tucking companies over the years. He was a member of the F&AM Lodge No. 239 in Freeport, New Castle Consistory and the Shrine in Pittsburgh. He was an avid collector of die-cast cars and trucks and enjoyed spending time with his family. Morris was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeport. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mildred L. (Crownover) Sarver; two sons, Merle Sarver, of South Buffalo Township, and Dean (Dawn) Sarver, of West Franklin Township; two grandchildren, Brady and Casie Sarver; and his sister, Sylvia Gregori, of Perm, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his brother, Calvin Sarver, who passed in 1963. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 High St., Freeport. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. James Higgins officiating. Graveside services will be held on Greenwood Memorial Park in Lower Burrell. A Masonic service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
