Robert Himler Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 24, 2015.
Robert E. Himler IV, 24, of Greensburg, died Wednesday, April 22, 2015, after a courageous and valiant fight with cancer. With profound sorrow we announce the passing of Robert E. Himler IV, beloved and precious son of Robert and Betsy Johnston Himler. He was born Feb. 17, 1991, in Greensburg. Robert was a very respectful and talented web designer, as well as a very successful internet entrepreneur. He was an inspiration to countless people around the world. He graduated from Latrobe High School in 2009, where he was a member of the two-time state high school championship hockey team. Robert's proudest moment was graduating and receiving his Bachelor of Science from Full Sail University, Orlando, Fla., as the class valedictorian, along with receiving the prestigious Advanced Achievement Award. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Greensburg. Robert dearly loved his life, his family, friends and animals. He was a gifted photographer and enjoyed world travel and exotic cars. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Lloyd Johnston; and an uncle, Robert Johnston. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Jane Johnston, of West Mifflin; paternal grandparents, Robert and Margaret Himler, of Latrobe; many loving aunts, uncles and cousins; his beloved pets, Crosby and Colby; and his panthers, Razzi and Tessa. His faith in Jesus Christ was an inspiration to all. Robert's parents are forever blessed and forever proud to have Robert as their son. Robert's friends and family gathered together this past Sunday at the J. PAUL McCRACKEN FUNERAL CHAPEL INC., 144 East Main St., Ligonier. His life was celebrated this past Monday at Fort Palmer Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Route 711 North, Ligonier, with the Rev. Dr. J. Paul McCracken officiating. Private entombment followed in the St. Clair Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Robert's family suggests contributions in his memory to your local Humane Society.
