Paul Jurkiewicz Obituary

Paul "Skip" Jurkiewicz, 78, of North Huntingdon, died Saturday, July 26, 2003, in Mercy Jeannette Hospital. He was born Dec. 9, 1924, in Export, a son of the late Peter and Julia (Karp) Jurkiewicz. He was a retired employee of the Buncher Co., Export, and previously worked as a farmer. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ivy M. (Brown) Jurkiewicz, on Dec. 13, 1998; a grandson, Jeffrey Jurkiewicz; three brothers, Peter, John and Edward Jurkiewicz; and four sisters, Verna Stapinsky, Laura Hajnosz, Mary Cain and Genevieve Jurkiewicz. Surviving are a son, Paul A. Jurkiewicz; a daughter, Becky A. Jurkiewicz; and a grandson, Paul S. Jurkiewicz, all of North Huntingdon; three sisters, Helen Stapinsky, of McKeesport, Irene Person, of East Pittsburgh, and Betty Jenko and her husband, William, of Export; a sister-in-law, Alma Jurkiewicz, of Westmoreland City; and nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Penn-Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntingdon. Those wishing may contribute to a charity of choice. The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the caring and compassionate staff of Dialysis Clinic Inc., and the Coronary Care Unit at Mercy Jeannette Hospital.
