Louis Silliman Obituary
He was born Aug. 11, 1933, in Brackenridge. Mr. Silliman worked at Allegheny Ludlum, Brackenridge Works, for 44 years before retiring in 1995. He enjoyed collecting coins and arrowheads, fishing and farming. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Constance O'Donnell Silliman; two sons, Louis V. Silliman Jr. of Freeport and Lawrence V. Silliman of New Bethlehem; a daughter, Kathy Basar of Freeport; and two sisters. He also is survived by two granddaughters, Samantha Silliman and Emily Peiffer, both of Freeport. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence V. and Hilda Morgan Silliman; two brothers; and a sister. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in REDMOND FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 High St., Freeport, where services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. James F. Neal, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, Freeport, will officiate. Burial will be private. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Orphans of the Storm Inc., Armstrong County Animal Shelter, Rural Route 8, Kittanning, PA 16201.
