Robert Sharbaugh Obituary

Robert Sharbaugh, of Allegheny Township, passed away in Lifecare Hospital after an extended illness surrounded by family and friends on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016. He was chief electrician at Citizens General Hospital for over 20 years, an outstanding electrician, who worked until his illness privately as an electrical contractor. His greatest love was his family, children, grandchildren and his friends whom he also considered his "adopted" family. His great love of the outdoors took him frequently to the mountains of Somerset and Cambria counties where he enjoyed hunting and fishing at his "hunting" camp. He was also an excellent trap shooter, winning the PA State Handicap Shoot in 1998. He belonged to numerous sportsmen's clubs including Frazer Sportsmens, Ferndale Sportsmens and Vandergrift Sportsmens. He was a member of Bethel Lodge No. 789, Syria Shriners, Pittsburgh, Syria Shrine Gun Club, where he was past president, Syria Shrine Hillbilly Clan No. 53, Pittsburgh and Coudersport Consistory, and past president of Val Caravan No. 3. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Regina (Luttrell); his daughters, Linda Croushore (Jim), Jeanann Sharbaugh and Colleen Luttrell; son, Ron Luttrell (Tracy); grandchildren, Allison Lohr, Delaney Lohr, Megan Sharbaugh, Ethan Croushore, Steeler Luttrell, Ryan Croushore and Parker Luttrell; his siblings; and multiple nieces and nephews.
Friends welcomed by his family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at CLAWSON FUNERAL & CREMATION CENTER, 170 Main St., Leechburg (724-842-1051) where a Masonic service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral ceremonies will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Clawsons with his pastor, the Rev. Harold Mele, officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Robert's memory to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607. To send an online condolence to the Sharbaugh family, please visit www.clawsonfuneralhome.com.

Linda Jean, Jeanann, and Rose:
I just now learned of Bob's passing.
My condolences on the passing of your father and husband.
Other of Bob's family members and friends who I did not have the pleasure of knowing:
I knew Bob from our days living on Charles Avenue in New Kensington.
I first met Bob in 1968 when he was commuting from Johnstown to N.K. while working at Citizens General Hospital where Rose was a nurse.
Bob and I had many things in common including love for the great outdoors, hunting trips, and interest in cars and technical stuff.
Bob helped me start the first Boy Scout Troop at Mount Saint Peter's Church in New Kensington (along with George DeSimone).
Bob had a generous heart, and a great laugh!!
Very fun, adventurous and stimulating man to spend time with.
He was a first class master electrician and helped me and several other neighbors with any electrical work they needed ... Gratis!!!
My son Robby and daughter Laurel were best friends with Linda Jean and Jeanann.
Except for a few brief visits, we lost contact after my family's moved to Massachusetts.
But Bob would (and will) always be remembered by my family as a great neighbor and loving father!!!
