MARIE SUTTER Obituary

Marie E. Sutter Marie E. Sutter, 85, born May 8, 1925, 1 of 9 siblings, to Anna and Felix Schurph, passed away on March 29, 2011. Surviving are 3 sons, Jerry (Cheryl), Denny (Dana), and Rick, 6 grandchildren, Trett, Josie, Zach, Abbie, Joe, and Shawn (Annie), and 4 great-grandchildren, Mia, Caden, Ella, and Trey. Marie came from the bay area in California to Sumner, and married Ted Sutter on July 4, 1947. Ted worked for Medosweet and Foremost Dairies while Marie was a homemaker. When the boys were in school, she worked at Brown and Haley, and later at the Hamilton Candy Factory. After Ted retired, they traveled and got to visit their roots back in Switzerland. They were very proud of their heritage. Ted passed away in 1997. Marie continued traveling and enjoying the casinos. The family gives special thanks to her friend Louie, who made her life fulfilling after losing her husband. She was a member of the Swiss Ladies Society, All Saints Catholic Church, and the Puyallup Eagles. Viewing is Monday, April 4, 2011, 4:00 to 7:00PM, at Powers Funeral Home, Puyallup. Funeral service is Tuesday, April 5, 2011, 10:30AM, at All Saints Catholic Church, Puyallup. Interment is at Sumner Cemetery with a reception at the Puyallup Eagles. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association.
